Getting started interning

I know that I need to get a job right away after I graduate to help to pay for my bills, but I need to find out how to do that. I have been doing design, and I need to find a place to do an internship that would probably end up in a job by the end of the summer. I have been looking at some Interior Design Companies, and I have found a few that are requesting summer interns. I want to go to one that only takes one intern, that way I have a good chance of being hired.
