I really need to learn more about Elder Neglect.
My grandmother was abused terribly at the first nursing home we placed her at. I feel terrible about it.
I never thought I’d have to deal with Elder Care Abuse in my lifetime, but you never know what life will throw at you.
We’ve moved her to a more reputable place, now, thank goodness. We’re still watching over her much more closely, though.

I have friend who live in the Michigan area who are confronted with a decision about where to locate their parents for their senior years. Many people are not fully aware of all the options. I suggested Michigan long term care as the ideal alternative. They are still independent and don’t need the added services provided by a nursing home. They can pay only for essential services but have backup care in place should the need arise. The benefits of living in a community based environment are also healthy for maintaining friendships and staying active.
