Call Centers Integrating Services from Home and Across the Sea

As my business grew over the last year we decided to move to an outsource call center. This has kept my costs down and kept my business afloat in tough economic times. However, we have had some complaints from our customers that the staff in India are either not knowledgable about their problems, difficult to understand or too inflexible to meet their specific needs.
Now I am researching other methods of customer service outsourcing. One possibility is to use part time staff that work from home in the United States. There is a huge, untapped labor market in stay-at-home moms and those who just want to earn a little extra cash to supplement their primary income. This would allow me to maintain less full time staff while ramping up busy hours of the day with part time workers.
I know that Dell and other large companies have brought back much of their call centers from India to the United States for similar reasons. I think that, even though I have saved a lot of money by moving to India, it will improve my long term business prospects to keep my customer service her in the U.S.

How Easy Are Today’s Medical Billing Software Programs?
Filed Under Business :: Management | Leave a Comment
A very long time ago, in order to bill out a claim form, the claim form would be put into a typewriter type data entry machine. It would have to be lined up perfectly in order for the information that was typed in would go into the exact spaces that it needed to go into on the form because there was not computers to use medical billing software programs. Then the biller would have to carefully type in all of the information that was needed on that claim form making sure that there were no mistakes made because if there were, it would have to be done over. Just think about how much easier it is in today’s age.

What Would Make A Knowledge Management System Fail?
Filed Under Business :: Management | Leave a Comment
The worst thing that plagues businesses in today world is greed and selfishness. Those people that have only one goal of climbing that corporate ladder and stepping over anyone that gets in their way. This is the number one reason why a knowledge management system could fail. People of your organization might not want to share the information that they have in order for them to get ahead. These people don’t really care if the person next to them could use the information just as much as they can. All they are concerned with is getting themselves a head and if they can do something that no one knows how to do, they may feel like they are an asset to the company. In this way, they may feel that a centralized KM system like a knowledge management portal is a threat to their job security - and they may resist placing their specialized knowledge online in such a system.

Ive been hearing a lot lately about six sigma. Supposedly it’s a great way to build your business into a more efficient operation. Six Sigma Online comes highly recommended from a number of people I respect.
a href=”http://www.si6ma.com/six-sigma-black-belt-certification.php”>Six Sigma Black Belt Certification looks like the way to go for us, although it will be a tough sell for upper management.
I know that six sigma has been a big success for many in our industry. Looks to be worth a try.
I’m sure I’ll have more to say about this down the line.
