Types of SUVs
Filed Under Autos & Trucks :: Cars | Leave a Comment
If you are looking for a very fuel efficient SUV then it is better to do a SUV gas mileage comparison chart which would give a good idea of the same. There are basically two types of SUVs available in the market today. They are the fuel efficient SUVs and the fuel guzzlers. A comparison review of these SUVs would show that most of the fuel efficient SUVs have the option of running on fuel as well as electricity. Companies like Saturn, Ford and Toyota are the pioneers in this field. These are called hybrid cars because of the dual option. These SUVs can deliver up to a staggering 26 miles per gallon which would be very useful in these times of escalating fuel prices and a downward spiraling economy.

There was a time, not too long ago in fact, when sport utility vehicle drivers had to sacrifice decent gas mileage to get the perks that an SUV provides. However, those days appear to be coming to an end, as SUV manufacturers are doing whatever they can to improve SUV gas mileage in future models. This is, of course, a response to both the high gas prices and consumer demands for more fuel efficient vehicles. If you are thinking about buying an SUV but you do not want to get poor gas mileage, consider waiting a year or two, as more and more fuel efficient SUVs will be coming to the market.

I didn’t know that every extra load of 100lbs reduces the fuel mileage by almost 2%. To think, I have happily been piling on stuff in the trunk of my car without realizing the impact. I had some half-empty paint tins stashed away for goodness knows how long. I think this must have been when I had been re-painting my office and had been lugging paint tins and brushes in the car. Once the job was finished I never did get around to emptying the trunk. But, I just came across this fact of extra load eating into fuel mileage and I thought I had better pull up my socks and clear out the car. This incident took place last month and already I can feel the difference in the fuel mileage. So, for Good Fuel Mileage please do not over-load your car.

If you are looking to save the most money possible when you are buying a car you need to also consider the expenses that will be associated with the vehicle after the purchase. This includes looking at things such as gas mileage fuel economy. This number can have a huge impact on the amount of money you will be spending on gasoline for the vehicle and can often be a deciding factor when deciding if the vehicle will fit into your budget. A vehicle with a low gas mileage fuel economy will cost much more to operate than a vehicle with a higher rating.

Car safety takes on several forms in this technology era. While the individual driving the car is still responsible for a host of safe driving practices, increasingly, small computers and micro processors are taking on the role of the car safety keepers. All cars nowadays come with a certain degree of automation, and when it concerns car safety, these aspects are mandatory. The auto pilot function for instance is one such example. By enabling the car to drive itself on open stretches, it ensures that drivers don’t feel the need to take their eyes off the road. Rather, they enable the driver to rest, thereby making for an enhanced driving experience, by taking on some of the monotonous aspects of driving on themselves.
